Mission Statement

Curtis and Associates Counseling Services was founded by Tamitra Curtis in 2003. The mission of the agency is to provide quality counseling services and wrap around services to those who are underserved and in need of mental health services, so they may live with dignity and respect, and be an active participant in their individual recovery plan, in order to be a productive citizen in society. The vision is to promote the use of therapy as a significant tool of growth and development, while using the person-centered approach that encompasses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, during the recovery planning process of each individual client.

SBIRT

Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based practice used to identify, reduce, and prevent problematic use, abuse, and dependence on alcohol and illicit drugs. The SBIRT model was incited by an Institute of Medicine recommendation that called for community-based screening for health risk behaviors, including substance use.

Private Practice- Counseling

Curtis and Associates Counseling Services provides: individual counseling, group counseling, couple counseling, psych-educational and family counseling. Curtis and Associates staff consist of Licensed-Chemical Dependency Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselor Interns, Parent Educators, Licensed Social Workers and Community Health Workers.
